Magic Bean for Mac v1.2 was approved last week bringing support for Growl 1.3. More updates are planned for-filling feature requests, if you have any feel free to send them over and they’ll be added to the list.
Changelog
Support for Growl 1.3, also makes use of the new Mist functionality to provide notifications to those without Growl.
Magic Bean for Mac is now available from the Mac App Store. The desktop version of the iOS app focuses on deployments allowing you to complete a deployment in fewer steps straight from your Macs Status Bar.
In order to use the app you must have the Beanstalk API activated. You may need to ask your account owner or an admin to activate this on your account.
Following quickly after v1.3, v1.3.1 is now available on the App Store. No new features have been added into this release, this release simply resolves a few issues and improves the way Magic Bean makes requests with the Beanstalk API.
Work on new features for upcoming versions is underway. If you have a feature you’d like to see in the app then get in touch.
Changelog
Improved how Magic Bean makes requests to the Beanstalk API.
Users can now retry a request if Magic Bean fails to request the required information from Beanstalk (loss of connectivity etc).
A big feature release this time for you Beanstalk users. Now you can use Magic Bean on your iPad as well as your iPhone as Magic Bean is now a Universal app. This was planned for a later version of the app but I got a bit ahead of myself and started working on it a bit early. This then meant the update took a little longer than planned to appear on the App Store but I think it was definitely worth it.
Changelog
- Added Universal Support for iPad
- Ability to Add Comments to Changesets.
- Fixed various bugs.
- Tweaked the UI to be brighter.
Another update is now live on the App Store. This update isn’t just a bug fix release, it also adds multiple account support for those of you who have more than one Beanstalk account.
The “Account” pane of the Settings tab has now been changes to “Accounts”. You can view the accounts you have set up and add more. By tapping the tick you can activate an account, by tapping the account you can edit the details of the account if you ever decide you need to change the password for example. Your account you have previously added to Magic Bean should be migrated over to the new method of storing user data.
You will also notice a “View Changes” button on changesets. Tapping this will show you what Files/Directories/Properties were Added/Edited/Deleted in that revision.
Please do keep giving me feedback and if you like the app leave a review on the app store.
Hot off the press of the initial launch of Magic Bean a small update to the app is now available on the app store. You can download this now from the App Store. Below is an overview of the changes made in this update. I am working on more features that will make future updates. Please do get in touch if you have any feedback or requests.
Several people are using older versions of iOS, I will be looking into adding support for older versions of the OS in a forthcoming update. Till then another solution would be to upgrade to the latest version of iOS but some people may have good reasons not to do this and should wait for an app update in the near future.
Changelog
Fixed issue with the Grey Repository Label on Retina Displays.
Removed some un-needed files from the app.
Changed copy on the Welcome Screen when the app is first loaded.
Amended “No Commits Found” cell slightly.
Changed app feedback email address.
Fixed a crash caused by selecting a changeset or deployment to view more information in some instances.
If you don’t see the update on the app store it may appear a few hours later. Generally it can take a few hours for the update to propagate around the app store.
I’m pleased to say that Magic Bean App is now on the App Store ready for download onto your iOS device.
The app allows you to view your Beanstalk account on the move. Keeping you up to date with your development team and your projects. You can also deploy your projects to server environments that you have setup within your Beanstalk repositories within the app, allowing you to do more than ever on the go.
I have a few plans for Magic Bean, you can add to these by visiting the Contact page and submitting Feature Requests. iPad support is something that is on the cards for a future release.
In order to use the app you must have the Beanstalk API activated. You may need to ask your account owner or an admin to activate this on your account.
On a separate note, Apple Approved the app so quick I wasn’t ready with the site. I am in the process of getting everything functioning and polished so please bare with me on that front.
